Lagos Life EFCC: lawyer fees, raids and High Court
A pre-raid lawyer costs 2% of the wallet, with a ₦100,000 minimum. Missing an ordinary hearing can cost up to 1.5 times the disputed cash.

Open Phone → Police for the EFCC file and deadline. Ordinary raids offer Cooperate or Fight it in court. A scheduled High Court hearing needs arrival at court, no active travel and the due time reached; Quilox night court resolves inside its event.

Lagos Life EFCC investigation: reason, risk and deadline
A Lagos Life EFCC investigation appears in Phone → Police with its reason, decision deadline and pre-raid lawyer quote. Reasons include unexplained wealth, suspicious spending and a past police record. An innocent transferred gift can also be traced to money under investigation, so the notice is not limited to a purchase you just made.
An open investigation can close without a raid at its deadline. Hiring pre-raid counsel reduces the raid chance by 25 percentage points. For a starting-risk example of 60%, that reduction gives 35%, rather than a 25% relative reduction to 45%. The actual starting risk can differ; payment does not guarantee a closed file or a later court win.
The investigation, ordinary raid, scheduled hearing and Quilox party event have different actions. A lawyer hired for an open file changes that investigation’s risk; answering a scheduled case still requires the court action when its hearing becomes due.
Lagos Life lawyer fees: 2% with a ₦100,000 floor
The pre-raid EFCC lawyer fee uses 2% of the full wallet, rounded in ₦10,000 steps, with a ₦100,000 minimum and ₦20,000,000 maximum. At a ₦1,000,000 wallet, 2% is ₦20,000 but the floor sets a ₦100,000 fee. At ₦10,000,000 the fee is ₦200,000.
| Full wallet balance | Pre-raid lawyer fee |
|---|---|
| ₦1,000,000 | ₦100,000 |
| ₦5,000,000 | ₦100,000 |
| ₦10,000,000 | ₦200,000 |
| ₦100,000,000 | ₦2,000,000 |
| ₦1,000,000,000 | ₦20,000,000 |
The minimum means a smaller wallet does not always produce a smaller quote. At ₦5,000,000 and below, the base fee remains ₦100,000. The maximum limits the fee at the other end. Use the quoted action price for the exact amount near a rounding boundary.
Hire a lawyer is available only for an open file, once for that file, with sufficient cash and no lawyer already hired. Player counsel can charge an additional personal fee on top of filing or lawyer charges. That player-set fee has no universal price and should not be confused with the 2% pre-raid calculation.
EFCC raid: cooperate or fight in High Court?
| Ordinary raid choice | Cash and case outcome |
|---|---|
| Cooperate | Deduct the displayed disputed cash and close the file. |
| Fight it in court | Pay the lawyer fee if still due and receive a High Court case. The verdict decides the disputed cash. |
| Fight with insufficient fee cash | The ordinary branch deducts the original cash amount and closes the file. |
For a Lagos Life EFCC raid disputing ₦1,000,000, cooperation takes that quoted amount. If court also needs a ₦200,000 fee, a dismissal preserves the disputed cash but leaves the legal fee spent. A loss or missed ordinary hearing can deduct up to ₦1,500,000 in eligible cash, in addition to a fee already paid.
This comparison has three figures: the cooperation amount, any unpaid legal fee and the larger loss exposure. Use the case notice’s values rather than applying the example to every file. A fee shown as already paid is not another fresh charge.
Selecting Fight it in court with too little cash for a fee still due does not create a free delay. In the ordinary branch, it falls back to the original cash deduction and closes the file. Make that affordability check before choosing court, together with the travel needed to attend.
Answer your case at Lagos High Court before grace ends
- Read the hearing due time in Phone → Police and whether any fee remains unpaid.
- Use Map → High Court for Lagos High Court in Igbosere, Lagos Island.
- Finish travelling and wait at court if the due time has not yet arrived.
- At or after the due time, use Answer your case while you are at court and no longer travelling.
- Read the verdict and cash change before selecting another activity.
An ordinary hearing is scheduled 5–15 game minutes after the case is created, followed by ten game minutes of grace after its due time. If a notice gives 10:12 as the due time, the grace period ends at 10:22 on the game clock. Selecting the destination at 10:21 is insufficient if you have not arrived by the answer window.
Answer your case is the relevant action. Watch a Trial from the Gallery, Practise a Closing Argument and Swear an Affidavit are other High Court activities; completing one does not answer your scheduled EFCC hearing. A dismissal keeps the disputed cash after legal fees paid, while a loss or missed hearing can trigger the larger deduction.
EFCC seizure: eligible cash, top-ups and belongings
The ordinary EFCC flow deducts eligible cash and keeps houses, cars, land and purchased belongings. Cash bought through top-up is protected from that seizure. A quoted loss greater than the eligible cash available is limited by that eligible balance.
For example, before other payments, a wallet with ₦1,000,000 eligible cash and ₦1,000,000 protected top-up cash has ₦2,000,000 total. An ordinary ₦1,500,000 seizure cannot take the protected million; the eligible million limits that deduction. This is a seizure example, not a promise about voluntary purchases or legal fees.
The pre-raid lawyer price still uses the full wallet, and a voluntary lawyer payment still costs cash. A protected top-up balance does not remove a legal quote. Compare the full wallet used to price the fee with the eligible cash at risk in the raid; those are different amounts.
Quilox EFCC raid: an immediate night-court event
Quilox party raids have their own choices for ordinary partygoers and big spenders. The displayed options and consequences depend on that party-event tier, so the ordinary Cooperate versus Fight it in court comparison cannot be applied to every Quilox encounter.
A Quilox night-court choice resolves within the event immediately. It does not create the ordinary hearing scheduled 5–15 game minutes later at High Court. Read that event’s result before choosing a destination on Map; travelling to court does not recreate a party event that has already resolved.
EFCC cash planning before choosing court
With a ₦1,000,000 wallet and the ₦100,000 minimum pre-raid fee, hiring counsel leaves ₦900,000 before unpaid rent, loans, food or travel. The fee is 10% of that wallet even though the uncapped formula starts at 2%.
Put the displayed legal fee and court trip into the cash budget. Keep a paid fee out of the unpaid-cost total. The amount disputed belongs in the decision comparison as a possible loss, rather than being subtracted as if the verdict had already happened.
